How to make your first game (or website)

I get asked this question a lot, so I thought I would make a blog post covering this topic:

http://goldfirestudios.com/blog/61/How-to-make-your-first-game-%28or-website%29

Nice info. Makes me want to learn some php. I already know html from way back and some javascript. Never played with databases yet but I know they are the key to really make things interactive.

Thanks! Any requests for other topics I could write about? Trying to find something to blog about next.

Well not sure if its already posted somewhere.
But it seams like how to play liars dice is a bit of a mystery for some people.
I had played it before so I knew how but when asked to explain how I was having a hard time trying to explain it in just a few words.
Not sure if that qualifies for a blog post at goldfire though maybe more a how to forum post.

Cool blog, I learned HTML a year ago and I'm learning PHP since 2 weeks...I hope that I will create a site in future, which is as good as yours.

Yes, Unity is great, although that is a completely different type of game and shouldn't be grouped in with the rest of the topics. Or are you saying I should write something about Unity?

I just started looking at unity myself. Checking out there tutorials and such.
I tried a game a while back that uses unity web player and it had some nice features about it.
Just thought I would mention it for the sake of the thread, incase it sparks some interest.

Have you tried it ?
I read at the blog your considering making a third game this year maybe.

Yes I have used it extensively actually, but never released a game with it. I was using it a lot last summer and was planning a full 3D game using Unity back then, but plans have somewhat changed since then.

I've thought about that, but if that happens, I most likely won't be using Unity. I don't like requiring a plugin for features. If it happens, which I'm hoping to make it happen sometime in the future, it will use a mixture of HTML5 and WebGL, but not enough browsers support those fully enough to update it to that for a while still.
